Community Organizing
The Buckeye/Woodland Hills area has a rich history and a bright future! The Buckeye Area Development Corporation (BADC) works hand-in-hand with residents, merchants and city government to build a healthier, wealthier and stronger community. We provide a variety of programs and services to help the residents of Buckeye/Woodland Hills live together in safety, stability and prosperity. Join with us to make our community a great place to live!

Block Clubs: Currently more than 30 Block Clubs are functioning in the community. Added the Combined Block Club and E. 122nd street club as a Model Block Community. Strong block clubs are the key to reducing crime and bringing other positive changes to the community. Get involved in your block club!

Safety: Our objective is to educate and motivate communities to become active in the physical improvement of their communities as a way of preventing crime. Safety Summits are held quarterly partnered with the Fourth and Fifth District Police Departments

Community Policing/Auxiliary Police/Block Watch: Volunteers in the community act as the eyes and ears of the Cleveland Division of Police

Court Watch: Volunteers learn how the justice system works, visit court, attend hearings and help make sure the Judges and Prosecutors are doing their job.

Community Lead Exposure Prevention Project (CLEPP): Provides education to families with young children about the dangers of lead exposure and provides a forum for lead screenings and inspections.

Neighborhood Paint, Clean Up and Fix Up: Residents involved in community pride. Monthly campaigns are initiated to keep an attractive and better community.

City of Cleveland Paint Refund Program: Provides vouchers for free paint and painting supplies. Applications are accepted May through June each year.

Steps to a Healthier Cleveland: A Citywide program designed to engage the Community to live longer, better and healthier lives. Encourages physical activity and healthy eating. These efforts are intended to reduce the burden of diabetes, overweight/obesity and asthma in our neighborhood.
