The objective of Artisan Square is to re-introduce functional market rate housing along Buckeye road. This housing will not only increase homeownership within the district but will also act as a complimentary development to other proposed BADC projects (i.e. Moreland Theater and Buckeye Road Master Redevelopment Plan). The goal of the project is to create a district comprised of a minimum of 25 live/work units that will provide not only an opportunity for innovative residential living but also increase the number of viable commercial and office space along the corridor.
The project is designed as a node, containing at least 20 three-story live/work town home units. There will be two phases as the development will span East 121st to East 124th on both the north and south sides of Buckeye road. These units will be consist of two models (1300 and1700 square feet) with a ground level space that can be used as bonus or work space. Each unit will have a rooftop deck designed to take advantage of scenic views. Also, large green areas will be incorporated within both phases showcasing public art. Square One Architects, one of the city’s foremost urban housing design firms, has been selected as the projects architect.
The projects design goals will re-introduce functional housing with artistic elements on Buckeye road while incorporating much needed green space. To that end, we will be working with Park Works and Cleveland Public art to accomplish these goals.
